My 40k PB!
Nathalie - A Year of Endurance
In 2021, I got a little overexcited and signed up for a wild mix of events: my first ultra (100km), my first triathlon (longer than a Half Ironman), a marathon, a long-distance duathlon, and a full weekend of back-to-back triathlons!
Emily was the reason I made it through. She taught me how to swim properly in record time and designed a training plan that helped me show up strong to every single race.
She didn’t just coach me—she embraced my crazy calendar and helped turn it into one of the most fulfilling years of my life.
Thank you so much, Emily!
I crawled out of the Channel onto the beach in France free of injuries (and pain killers) after nearly 14 hours of swimming.
Ollie - Channel swimmer
I was training to swim the English Channel and after some shoulder and lat injuries, was looking for an experienced sports massage therapist to help get me to the start line as fit and healthy as possible. I'd previously booked a generic sports massage from a popular London app and found the lack of sport-specific experience meant the massage didn't cut the mustard. After some research, I found Emily, who was so well qualified I didn't hesitate to book a five session package. I could not have made a better choice! The massages were excellent. Emily immediately knew which problem areas to focus on. However, what really sets Emily apart is the incredibly broad and deep sport-related knowledge that she brings to the table. Not only did she manage to work out all of my minor strains and tightness with remarkable accuracy, but she was able to help me make sure that these injuries didn't happen again in the future. For a swimmer, with Emily I hit the jackpot in a sports massage therapist that is also a marathon swimmer, biomechanics expert and a swim coach! And I wouldn't hesitate to go to her for any other sporting injuries.
Thanks to Emily, I crawled out of the Channel onto the beach in France free of injuries (and pain killers) after nearly 14 hours of swimming. After my swim, I am still going to her for massages and have even booked my wife (a professional photographer with shoulder pain) in too. Could not recommend more highly.
Gail - Lockdown Fitness Virtual sessions
I’ve been an avid attendee at Emily’s lockdown virtual fitness sessions for the past 6 weeks, doing the daily stretches, the midweek run/swim strength and conditioning sessions, and now even the early morning HIIT sessions!
I started running 3 years ago through a couch to 5k programme and worked up to struggling trough half marathons, which I love. Since the lockdown of course all races have been cancelled - but this has turned out to be a kind of blessing for me as for the first time ever I’m doing this kind of fitness training. Emily's classes are really welcoming, well planned and there is a lot of attention to detail. Even though there are many in the classes she pays attention to everyone, giving individual advice as needed. They are always fun too. I feel so much fitter, I can around move better - and that’s just around the house! When I go for a run now I’m finding my legs are stronger, they even feel connected to my body. Who knew! My arms are working too and my breathing is a lot easier. I can highly recommend her classes to anyone who wants to improve their running strength and style ready for when the races start up again - and beyond.
Darley Moor duathlon – qualifying for the European age group champs!
Kathryn - European Championship qualification
I would highly recommend Emily as a triathlon coach. She is so talented across so many areas – one-to-one swim coaching, strength & conditioning, sports massage, racing tips... and she’s able to combine all of this to offer a unique, multi-dimensional and comprehensive package. I’m convinced that’s the reason I haven’t had a single injury all year, despite recurring knee problems before I started coaching.
Her approach is completely individualised, and plans are always tailored around work / life circumstances. This was so important to me, given my 50+ hour a week work schedule – including run commutes and short lunch time workouts, as well as reducing the intensity when needed, enabled me to keep up the consistency even during extra busy periods.
After just 6 months, my 10k PB improved from 49 minutes to 43, and I qualified for the World Duathlon Championships in my age group, something I thought would take years!
Starting triathlon coaching with Emily was definitely the best decision I could have made.

Ros Young - Strength and Conditioning for swimming
My background was marathon and ultra running, and because I was quite good (top 6 in my age group in the country) it never occurred to me that there was more to run training than just running - albeit at different paces!
Fast forward 35 years, and when hip surgery ended my running, I focussed on cycling and swimming. I had come to swimming a bit late, and hadn’t realised how weak my core and upper body were, and I found I wasn’t able to maintain good stroke technique in longer open water events.
Emily has pinpointed specific issues, and devised a programme of exercises to complement stroke development by addressing these key areas of weakness, and although I was targeting swimming, it can’t be a coincidence that in the last few months, after time trialling for eleven years, I’ve achieved lifetime bests in 10 and 25 mile cycling time trials - at age 75!
Emily is supportive and enthusiastic, and I strongly recommend her approach.
Lucilla’s thank you letter
Lucilla, age 11 - youth swim development
Thank you for teaching me how to swim. I am so happy I have had a good teacher like you. I feel like I have improved immensely. Before I had lessons with you I didn’t like swimming at all, but with your big encouraging grin and thumbs up, I love swimming and I am now more confident and enthusiastic about participating in races.
I love having lessons with you, Emily, you have made swimming one of my number one hobbies and although I am moving abroad. I will still think of you every time I swim. And if I become an Olympic swimmer, I will say it was all thanks to you. Thank you Emily for all you’ve done for me.
